Reopening a Denied or Underpaid Claim
A closed claim is not always a finished one. Florida’s supplemental-claim window can give boards and owners time to revisit a claim that was denied, closed, or underpaid, if it is documented and filed correctly.
The supplemental-claim window
Florida law allows notice of a supplemental claim within 18 months of the date of loss. If your association settled for less than the real cost of the loss, or damage surfaced after the file was closed, that window may still be open.
What reopening actually takes
Reopening is not a matter of simply asking the carrier for more. It takes a documented position: the original scope, what was missed or underpaid, and the evidence that supports the additional amount. That is the work CCG does, and it is why a reopened claim succeeds or fails on documentation.
Start with a free review
If you suspect a past claim was underpaid, the review is free and there is no obligation. We will tell you honestly whether there is a case to reopen.
